PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
John Loyd is a seasoned financial and tax advisor with a career spanning over two decades, marked by his dedication to providing personalized, tax-advantaged financial guidance. Based in Fort Worth, Texas, John's clients however span across 15 different states. His passion for investing ignited at an early age, where he would check out investment and finance books at the library as a teenager. He even attempted to open an account at Dean Witter (now Morgan Stanley) at the age of 16, but was told he was too young and to come back at 18, which he did. He later interned with the company during college and secured his car license plate that spells out "INVEST."
John, a first generation college student, graduated with summa cum laude honors in finance from Texas State University. Subsequently, he spent nearly eight years at Edward Jones Investments, where his work ethic and dedication earned him the prestigious Iron Will award. In 2004, he embarked on his entrepreneurial journey by establishing his financial consulting firm, catering to a wide array of wealth management needs.
Driven by a passion for continuous learning, John earned his Master's degree in Personal Financial Planning from the College for Financial Planning and also (during COVID shutdowns) his MBA from Purdue University. He holds licenses including Series 7 (General Securities Representative), Series 63 (Uniform Securities State Law), Series 65 (Uniform Investment Advisor Law), Series 24 (General Securities Principal, held with LPL Financial), and a Group 1 Life and Health Insurance license. John's desire to provide the most educated and well-rounded financial advice led him to earn designations like the Behavioral Financial Advisor (BFA) designation, which combines psychology and neuroscience with traditional financial practices. He is a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC). Awarded through the College for Financial Planning, the CRPC designation focuses on an in-depth knowledge of client needs before and after retirement, with a focus on Social Security, health care during retirement, optimal income strategies, asset management, along with the emotional and financial transition to retirement. He is an Accredited Wealth Management Advisor (AWMA®). The AWMA® designation focuses on a course of study encompassing wealth strategies, equity-based compensation plans, tax reduction alternatives, and asset protection alternatives. His passion for educating others is evident through his role as an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University, where he imparts his expertise in financial planning and investment analysis. John's credentials include the IRS "Enrolled Agent" designation and the Registered Tax Return Preparer title, showcasing his proficiency in tax matters. He is a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP). John is a frequent radio guest on stations WBAP and KLIF and has been a Guest Finance Lecturer for both Celebrity and Norwegian cruise lines.
